Dr. Herrmann and his staff’s goal is to make you and your child feel right at home, and part of this means having an office that caters to your total comfort. Rick Herrmann Orthodontics features a warmly appointed reception area with several oversized plasma HDTVs, complimentary coffee bar and lots of current magazines. There’s lots of fun video games for kids in an arcade-style room. You’ll relax in a spacious open-bay treatment area that features comfortable chairs and TVs for your viewing pleasure. The treatment area also has an 18-foot TV wall! Plus, a semi-private treatment area is available just for adults. It’s a high-tech, glamorous office that you’re sure to enjoy.

Your care with Dr. Herrmann begins with a comprehensive orthodontic exam. His office is the first in the area to be equipped with an i-CAT 3-D digital imaging system, which produces 3-D images of the mouth, face and jaws. i-CAT scans typically take about 10 seconds and are very patient-friendly; you sit upright in an open environment during the scan. Dr. Herrmann’s diagnostic and treatment capabilities also include the SureSmile diagnostic imaging system, which he also introduced first to the area. i-CAT and SureSmile provide the information needed for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.
Once your initial exam and diagnostic records are complete, a customized orthodontic treatment plan will be presented. A copy of this plan will also be sent to your general dentist.

SureSmile® digital orthodontic system — A high-tech robotic process fabricates your customized SureSmile archwire, which matches your treatment plan with pinpoint precision. Once placed, the archwire will move your teeth directly where they need to go. And because the archwire is made from a “shape-memory alloy” that works with body heat, it shortens treatment time. SureSmile also allows for fewer office visits and less discomfort.
Clarity™ SL cosmetic clear self-ligating braces — These virtually invisible brackets feature a unique clip that holds a superelastic archwire in place, allowing it to slide freely back and forth with less friction. This results in greater patient comfort because there is less pressure on the teeth. Clarity self-ligating braces align your teeth more quickly than traditional braces. They require fewer adjustments, which means your number of office visits will be reduced. Plus, Clarity braces do not require elastics or O-rings, which often discolor over time.
Invisalign® — Invisalign is a revolutionary way of straightening teeth without metal wires or brackets. Invisalign works through a series of clear comfortable aligners that you can remove whenever you eat, drink, brush or floss. Candidates for Invisalign include adults and mature teens.
Early orthodontic treatment — Many orthodontic problems are actually preventable if they’re caught early enough. That’s why children as young as age 7 should see an orthodontist, as recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Herrmann’s interceptive treatment methods can help reduce the need for extractions and/or costly surgical correction in the future.
Advanced sterilization procedures — Dr. Herrmann and his staff put your safety first by using sterilization methods that meet or exceed OSHA guidelines and are monitored weekly by the Baylor College of Dentistry.

To do this, I use innovative, proven orthodontic solutions, some of which I was first to introduce to the Mansfield and Arlington areas. These include the SureSmile® digital orthodontic system, which allows for greater comfort, shorter treatment times and fewer office visits. Equally important, I always provide my patients with focused, unhurried care in a fun and friendly environment.”

When he isn’t at the office, Dr. Herrmann enjoys spending time with his wife, Suzy and their two daughters. He likes traveling, snorkeling and reading. His commitment to the community isn’t merely as an orthodontist, but also as a concerned, involved citizen. He donates his time and resources to multiple sports teams, schools and churches. He is currently a board member for the Mansfield ISD Education Foundation. Also, he has been a board member for Dental Health Arlington and the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Mansfield Rotary Club. In addition, he established a scholarship that is given to one Mansfield ISD high-school senior each year.

Meet Our Staff
Kandace is a Registered Dental Assistant and has been assisting in the orthodontic field since 1999. Kandace really enjoys the hands-on aspect of orthdontics and all of the different and personalized treatment plans. She is excellent at rising to any challenge and assisting Dr. Herrmann with all chairside capacities. Outside of the office, Kandace enjoys live music, being outdoors and spending time with her teenage son and pets.
